Resort suggestions for Young(ish) Couple

Hi, I'm looking for a holiday for my boyfriend and me but not sure where to start. we want to go to a resort that's not too quiet or completely full of familes but not too rowdy and full of young groups of girls/lads either. We would like somewhere that has restaurants and lots of bars and some clubs but not somewhere that is solely centred on its night life.

Obviously a nice beach is needed and it needs to be a med holiday as i don't want a long flight - does anyone have any ideas of somewhere that would suit us?? and pref cheap too!!

I forgot to say we are 27yr male & 26yr Female

my chap and i went to Rhodes 2 yrs ago. i'm now 28 and he's 30.
I'd recommend Rhodes island for anyone of any age. sun, swimming, culture, bars, and fantastic food!

We stayed in Rhodes New Town for the decent hotel and right by the beach but were close enough to walk to the Old Town for some culture (walled town with great medieval streets to explore). the sea is lovely but some of the beach is pebbly and it got so hot it felt like it was burning. There are good restaurants, nice shops and the much needed Bar Street! with good bars, cheep drinks, lots of free drinks to get you in and a few nightclubs. It was a Free pretty 30min bus ride out to Faleracki (sorry about spelling), where i wouldnt want to say as it's all nightlife and nothing else, but the water park there was Amazing!

i think we paid about 660 for the 2 of us on a bed and breackfast basis at the hotel inc cheap flights - i got the price down a long way by using Martin's techniques!

We used to go to San Antonio Bay in Ibiza. Its near enough to the town to go clubbing and far enough away to enjoy a quiet night in. I'll also second Rhodes, went there quite a while back now, and actually decided to go back there for next years hols.
