I won but no prize! - Advice please?

I was lucky enough to win a bottle of Ketel One vodka in via Mybrumtv and received an WEM from John Edden on 10th Dec to let me know and ask for my address details. This wasn't delivered, so I sent John an email reminder on 6th Jan, to which I didn't receive any answer!

I sent another email today and have received an email from John saying "I am afraid that as other competition winners for this prize have reported that the vodka has turned up and the competition organisers have confirmed that the bottles of vodka were posted out I can only assume that this is a Royal Mail error and hope that it turns up in due course".

I know I could report this to Institute of Sales Promotions, but am wondering if anyone has any advice and is it really worth bothering?

My advice is to reply back to John saying you will leave it to the end of the week and let him know if it arrived, say you presumed the competitons organisers have proof of postage and will be able to claim from the post office for non delivery and then send out your prize again

The bad news is that most promotors have a clause in their terms and conditions that absolves them from any responsibility if an item is lost in the post. I imagine something like a bottle of vodka would have been sent out by a recorded service though...

But I do hope it shows up for you!

Sorry, I have no advice as to who to contact but surely it's their problem until you receive it? Therefore they should chase Royal Mail themselves and send you a replacement.
I'm sure others will have better comments than me but I hope you get it sorted.

I won some tickets with MyBrum and they never arrived either despite follow up emails. Unfortunately prizes do get lost in the mail and not all promoters will send things special delivery or recorded or even with proof of postage. If the packaging does advertise what it is it may have 'walked' in the mail, having not received several prizes over the years, i just take the view that you can't miss what you never had and it was free anyway, dont let it dishearten you though!!

I also won tickets with MyBrumTV that never turned up, had no response to several emails and even though I actually spoke to John Edden who promised to look into it for me, I never heard from them again. My advice would be to put it down to experience if it doesn't arrive - am sure your big cheque from ITV will turn up without any problem !!

Many thanks for all your advice and I've decided to just let this go. I've emailed John Edden to say that I consider the matter closed and will no longer enter any Mybrumtv comps again. I appriciate this will be my loss, not theirs.

Of course I'll still keep waiting for that GMTV call though. lol

Have just this week sent another e-mail to the 'contact us' email address on the mybrumtv website to see if that works!

Always great to win..... wonderful when the prize actually turns up!!!!!
