TV Stretching Picture

Our 14 year old television is starting to badly stretch the picture towards the top of the screen. Is there likely to be any fix for this, or is the best bet to put it down to age and buy a new one?

buy a new set.... more shows are also starting to show 16:9 instead of 4:3 so you will have the advantage of watching a 16:9 feed on a 16:9 tv and not having to watch on a 4:3 set

actually sounds like the tube is gone on your tv or on its way out...
