Leaving notice during consultation period

Hi.

A statutory 90 day consultation period starts today prior to the work site being shut down. Esentially we are on 3 months notice.

If I am offered a position during this time what notice am I obliged to give? My employment contract is 3 Months.

I am subject to a training bond which, in normal circumstances, I would have to pay a pro-rata fee if I left. Is this still enforcible by the company up to the time they turn out the lights?

Thanks

Nigel

Your normal contract is still binding so basically yes they can hold you to both of these. You would need to negotiate to shorten/reduce these.

They may be ammenable to this. They may not.

If you work in a large office etc and they are going to be there for 90 days regardless then there isnt much incentive to them to let you out early at their expense.
