I'm freaking. By this time next week I'll be married, and we have no idea how much the reception is costing as the manager has been away for the last 3 weeks, and there is no promise that he'll be back on Mon. I don't have flower girl shoes. One bridesmaid and one flower girl won't know if their dresses fit til next Thu evening, and it looks like it might snow up north, where my family are driving from. Someone pass me a stiff drink please!!

I get a bit freaked, but then lovely OH calms me down! Most of the things I worry about are things I can't control so no point worrying :-) I do however have very strange wedding dreams - in the latest one Gordon Ramsey was our vicar!

Don't worry though - things will fall into place, just concentrate on yourself and OH and try and keep a sense of humour about the things you can't do anything about!
Some people create their own storms....then get upset when it rains!

The freaking comes and goes, this time next week, I will be heading for Heathrow for the moneymoon.

Its all sorted out now, I think !&$%£

Edit: erm speech to write! Why am I not fussed giving a presentation to 800 doctors, but the thought of giving a speech to 40 friends and family fills me with dread????

Panicking is normal..all brides do it to a lesser or greater extent. Calm down ladies it will all work out...a few deep breaths and maybe some lubrication will help.

DKLS - standing up in front of 800 strangers is easier than standing up in front of your family & friends. Employ the techniques that you use when talking to those doctors, standing up, deep breath, focus as a point above their heads. Practice in front of the mirror.

As per usual the thought of giving my speech is much worse than what the reality will be :D

I guess the big difference, is my speech will come from the heart, rather than my usual medical informatics presentations.
