Boiler trouble

Hi All,
My boiler in house was frozen over the recent cold weather. I have been trying to get my heating back on with little success.
After the pipes and boiler thawed out, Direct line sent over an engineer who was unable to get the boiler started. What is happening is that once the heating timer is switched on then the pump starts and then it trips the switch for the electricity off. The electrician assumed that there is water in the pump or in some electrical wiring. I was advised to "warm up the cupboard" by using a fan heater to dry out any water. I have been doing that for a few days now and still no success.
Before calling direct line again (who will start charging me now), are there any other checks i can do to narrow down to the problem?
Thanks in advance
S.

You need a competent heating engineer not an electrician! You may have been sent an electrician due to the way that you described the fault but most electricians don't fully understand boilers/heating systems - it's not what they do. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
