  • Go onto confused.com, they do motorbike quotes as well.
Check out cancellation charges though. Bennetts cost me a fortune when I had to change due to low NCB but had bought a high powered bike half way through policy.

  • I believe there is now companies that allow motorbike NCB to be used on a car,but dont know what ones (think there was a post on here recently about it).
Never heard of it working the other way but then again, never looked.
If you find the post, if the insurers listed insure bikes and cars, they may let you.

Try Bennetts, Carole Nash, eBike, MCE Insurance and Bikesure.

I've been with Bennetts, now with eBike (as I could insure two bikes on the same policy).

MCN's website also has an Insurance comparison bit.

Lastly, if you are buying a new bike after your test, it's worth looking for manufacturers insurance deals that come with some makes and models of bike.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Problem with a CBR is if you drop it you have a lot of plastic that will need replacing.

I'm on my second Honda Hornet 600(http://s277.photobucket.com/albums/kk56/gordon861/New%20Hornet/) in 5 years, not broke one just px'd the first for a new one. Same engine as the CBR600 just detuned a bit but will still scream off like a rocket if you want. Very reliable, very easy to ride and good fun.

Naked bike is good ( you will drop it...)

    Ducati Monster
    Honda Hornet
    Kawasaki ER6n
    Suzuki Bandit

Depends on you budget and personal preference. Me, I like a V-twin engine for the torque (low-rev "pull") but others prefer the high-rev rush of a four-cylinder.

Whatever you choose, I wouldn't spend a fortune on it a you will no doubt want to change in a year or so as you develop your skills and work out what your preference really are.
