apples and pears can go in a crumble or pie, add cinnamon and raisins... or dorset apple cake!
oranges - make orange pancakes or an orange cake - grate off the zest, add to sponge mixture, add the juice to icing...Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!DFW Long Hauler Supporter No 1500 -
lilmiss - I LOOOOVE shortbread...my mum hates me cos mine comes out better than hers. Pint loves my fruit cakes, he goes mental when I make them and always eats them all in a week. What was the rice pudding recipe again? May alter it for oven cooking.
claire - could you make an apple and pear tart or pie? Just need to make a basic pastry - shortbread works well - roll it thinly - don't necessarily HAVE to bake it blind - but it can help, cut and mix the apples and pears then cook them with sugar for 10-15 mins til soft and then pop in the over with or without a pastry top.
