Why can't I find a cheap family organiser calendar anywhere. Last year I got a plain simple one from Whsmiths for 4.99 this year its almost double the price. All I canfind are all singing all dancing ones with stickers etc that cost the earth. I was going to print one off but no ink in the printer and It would be cheaper to buy a calendar me thinks grrrrrr having a bad dayI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

I use a tried and trusted recipe from Thrify ways for modern days:
3 very ripe bananas, pinch of salt, 170g (60z) melted butter, 1tsp bicarb of soda dissolved in 1 tbsp of water, 170g (6oz) of caster sugar, 1 egg and 225-285 (9-10 oz) of plain flour.
Smash the bananas - a fork does a good job. Add the remaining ingredients and mix together. Pour into 2 greased or paper linted 1lb loaf tines of 1 2lb loaf tin,
bake in a moderate overn 180 degrees c/350 degrees f, or gas mark 4 for 45 minutes, or until an inserted knife comes away clean.0 -
