Hi
I'm wanting to claim my PPI back as I wasn't aware that it was optional. Also, can someone tell me if having PPI is useless if you work part time as I only work 19 hours? I've had this credit card for years and I'm sure I've got PPI but don't want to look an idiot. My credit card is in dispute and I want to make doubly sure that I have it before I contact Barclaycard. I cannot see it anywhere on my statements. My other credit card statements do. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the PPI threads.
I believe its 16 hours but do check your policy as it may vary.
However, if you do not require this and its worthless to you then of course you can try to reclaim on the PPI and interest etc.
Have you thought about requesting a Subject access Request (SAR)?
If you have not done so then it may be worth your while, they have 40 days to send everything they still hold on you, so they should also have details of any PPI as well.
There is a charge of £10 for this as well, payable by either cheque or postal order payment and I would post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting.
SAR Template here:

Here below the guidelines of reclaiming PPI, with template letters, a checklist of mis selling reasons, and they have 8 weeks in full to respond, again post by recorded delivery.

It makes no difference to what I know of if the account is in dispute or not but if arrears and successful with a reclaim on that actual account, they could possibly refund the money towards the arrears, and anything remaining they should refund directly to you.
Hope you find this info helps, please ask for help anytime and let us know how you get on.
Good luck.;)

Thank you for this. I had a feeling it would be 16 hours as it is the same as the benefits system. You have given me food for thought though so thank you.0

Hi and your welcome.;)
There are many other reasons you can check on as well, even though my hubby worked maximum hours he was not eligible to make a claim in regards of some med issues that were pre-existing when he was sold some policies, so worth checking on the list to make sure for yourself as well.
