All DS games are compatible with the DSi unless they use the gameboy port, e.g. Guitar Hero on Tour (I think).

DSi games that use the extra DSi features are not comaptible with the DS or DS Lite.

If you're are enquiring about R4 type cards and copied games then I've no idea. I believe you need a different version to work with th DSi but discussing software piracy is against the forum rules anyway.

This is not strictly true. Some of the games with "extra" content for DSi (Word Games for example) will work on a DS Lite, only the extra content will not be available.

IIRC the DSi is region locked so imported DSi games may not work

You can however legitimately use these cards for "home brew"

original UK issued games will work on any DS lite and UK DSi. If the seller states that it will not work on DSi's with a certain firmware then i that would set alarm bells ringing. they way some counterfeit games use a hack was was closed when nintendo updated the DSi firmware from V1.3 to V1.4.

If you want to use the DSi shop for example you will have to update to the latest firmware.
