e mailed them last night, got reply saying they have cancelled account from today.also called into A&L branch who were great, put me on to head office who will try and stop payments out in future.
fingers crossed.worried myself sick all night.
  • Hi gem68, I fell for this too. What email did you use to get through to them. I've noticed that there is an EverBright Smile and an EverBright Smiles... Can find details on the latter but not the former. I've called bank and said I've been an idiot and done all I can to try and contact. They said there is no need to cancel my card and that if they take any more money from me to get in touch with them then.

    The girl who answered then told me i was calling a company called xmbrand - so i am guessing this is a call centre used for various companies. I asked for an email address but was told they couldnt pass it on due to secuirity reasons. I was also given an address in Florida for Everbright Smiles;

XM Brands have been mentioned before. Many complaints and problems linked to them, see:
    http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&source=hp&q=xm+brands

XM Brands scam - they are the umbrella company who 'sell' the products, their list of scam products includes the usual suspects: Acai, Colon Cleanse, Resveratrol, teeth whitener and some work from home scam garbage:
    http://www.xmbrands.com/

    http://sfholidays.blogspot.com/2009/11/scam-alert-xm-brands-refused-to-give-me.html

BBB lists Everbright Smiles as one of the dba names* of XM Brands:
    (*'doing business as' names)

    XM Brands scam

XM Brands are based in Florida and the Florida Attorney General is currently investigating them: http://www.myfloridalegal.com/lit_ec.nsf/investigations/E2B4046B28E10B148525768C005B8E6C

I am sure the investigators in Florida would find it very helpful to hear from anyone who has been scammed ;) :

    Economic Crimes Division
    Office of the Attorney General
    1515 N. Flagler Drive, Suite 900
West Palm Beach, Florida USA 33401
    Telephone: 561-837-5000
Or you can use the online form here:
    http://myfloridalegal.com/Contact.nsf/Contact?OpenForm&Section=Economic_Crimes

(Fill it in (takes 5 minutes) then scroll down and click submit)

That way your name will also be on the list for refunds if the Florida Attorney General orders them to refund the people they ripped off (which has happened with other companies in the past, eg: Acai)
