Couldn`t transfer the whole balance to 0%

My wife tried to transfer the balance of her nat west card to barclaycard 0% but they only transfered £1900 of the £5000 total. Any advise on what she can do next or what`s happend. sorry if Ive duplicated this query from others, but I couldn`t see it in the forum

That`s exactly it ! She wanted to transfer it all but they have given her a limit of £2000 which they didnt advise her of that at the time.
Could she transfer the rest to other 0% cards to clear it ?

Barclaycard are notoriously stingy with their credit limits when they're doing a 0% promotion - and I think they only allow a BT of 90% of your credit limit or £5,000 (whichever is the lower).

Yes you can certainly transfer the remainder to another 0% (providing you can get one). Try Egg or a card run by MBNA - they tend to be a lot more generous.

I have a similar problem...applied via the Natwest website and said i wanted to do a balance transfer and indicated the amount.

I received the application form and there was no mention of the credit limit nor in that fact a request for a balance transfer. I signed and posted it back

This morning have just received new card but with a credit limit that doesn't cover the balance transfer (only just over 55%)

I phoned the CS but they could only raise the limit by a small amount and didn't know anything about my balance transfer request. I asked how the credit limit was set seeing as i'd indicated during my application that i wanted to do a balance transfer and she said that it isn't taken into account.

Any suggestions as to what i should do as i feel that applying for this card has now been a waste of time and money due to the interest i'm going to be charged.
