ford fiesta cambelt cost

we have a petrol 04 plate fiesta in the family, 1.25 or 1.4 i forget

45k on the clock, does it need replacing?

what price should i be looking at for a new cambelt to be fitted

    Check your owners manual, it should say when it should be replaced. It'll probably be something like at 60k or 4 years whichever comes first. So yes its probably about due. Not sure on cost sorry.
  • Timing belts are normally £200+

    I have a 52 plate MK6 and I am pretty sure the official Ford book says it is 10 years or 100,000 miles. Haynes manual says it should be done sooner. around 60k or 5 years if I recall correctly. I havent had mine done yet... but we had a 306 done with a service for under 150 at my local garage. Best thing to do is ring a dealer and ask what the offical line is. I think the late MK6's had the intervals changed.

    I think haynes are usually over-cautious. Ford actually make and deal with the cars when people come back for repairs, and Haynes just pull a car to pieces and put it together again. I'd go with what Ford says ensuring it relates specifically to your model.
