i pod tagging songs

I have a new i pod with a function if you click the middle wheel while listening to the radio it supposedly tags the song and when you sync with i tunes it gives you chance to purchase the song. I've tried this but can't seem to get it to work. Help please
(Angus is my dog, not me ...)
