Problems with my shower

Hi I have a problem with my Mira Gem 88 mixer shower. Only boiling water comes out even when the temperature dial is set to cold. Its made the shower unusable. Its 3 years old and works on a gravity fed hot and cold water supply. Does any one have an idea of what could be wrong?

I would really appreciate some advice.

Hi,

Sticky or failed thermostat. A service kit would be the first thing I would be doing.
You might get one from a local plumbers merchant or from the Shower Doc.

The gem 88 isn't thermostatically controlled but a clean probably won't go amiss, the mira diagram doesn't show filters on the inlets but that doesn't mean they aren't there, it's the first place i would check to see if you are at least getting a cold water flow to the shower body.
