Delayed/ Cancelled Flight

My return flight from Tenerife 05/01/2010 was cancelled until the next day because Manchester Airport was closed due to snow, what if any, compensation can I claim from Monarch Airlines for this 24hr overnight delay?

I don't think you will be able to claim anything. The fact that the airport was closed due to bad weather was nothing to do with the airline. Did you have any travel insurance you can claim on for the expenses caused by that delay?

I had the same thing in Dec when coming back from Goa.At Manchester the Thomas Cook staff gave us all letters to send to our ins companies explaining about the flight delay, and i've put a claim in.I think you will have to do the same:D

Your delay was due to extraordinary circumstances so you cant claim anything from Monarch Airlines. You might be able to claim on your insurance read the terms.
