Higher Rate Mobility Allowance

My husband already recieves the lower rate mobility and middle care rate for another illness. However he has since been diagnosed with angina, will he able to claim the higher rate of mobilty now as he cant hardly walk any distance without having an attack,

He can ask for his DLA award to be reviewed, but there is a chance the award could go down rather than up.
It would be best to seek advice from a Welfare Rights Officer to check that his present award is safe, they can be found at places like the CAB or your local Council.0 -
DLA is awarded on symptoms, not diagnosis. Has his condition got worse than when the low rate was awarded or it is just that you now know what's causing it?
I would go along with healy's suggestion and get a Welfare Rights Officer to go through it with you.0
