Hi there
As some have mentioned you might not at the moment be allocated a 3 bed council house. For housing benefit purposes rooms are calculated as follows (they may be different for council housing and HA so you may want to telephone them)
You are entitled to one bedroom for:- every adult couple (married or unmarried);
- any other adult aged 16 or over;
- any two children of the same sex aged under 16;
- any two children aged under 10; and
- any other child
Have you looked at renting privately and trying for LHA assistance?
Ask the LA for a list of all the housing associations in the area and get as many application forms filled in as you can to maximise your chances of a tenancy
Put your name on the council list as well and tick less populated areas if you can, my sister was on the list for a town property for years and as soon as she changed her preferences to the villages in the area she was given a property.“You’re only here for a short visit.
Don’t hurry, don't worry and be sure to smell the flowers along the way.”Walter Hagen
