What ID is required and at what stage of purchasing a property?

Hi Everyone,

It's been many years since I've purchased a house and the issue of money laundering was not a feature then. I would appreciate advice regarding what ID papers/information have to be provided to complete the process. I've made an offer on a house and the EA has requested proof of funds to show that I am a serious buyer (I won't need a mortgage) which is fair enough. So, what's next? What ID will I have to provide to my solicitor? Thanks.

  • Thanks for the prompt reply to query. One more question - someone mentioned to me that ones's N.I. insurance also has to be provided. Is this the case? If so, what's the reason? Thanks.
