Root user emails ? ? ? ?

in Techie Stuff
i am getting 50 / 60 emails a day from "root user" all identical. I havent opened any but am getting fed up of deleting them. what are they and how would i stop them.any help appreciated. thanks

You should be able to set a filter to prevent them. The way this is done varies with your email client.Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

have filtered them straight to trash , but what are they ? root user sounds a bit dodgy to me. should i be worried about them ?we all have bad days , some more than others ..................0

"root" is the name of the standard administrator account on a Unix system so it sounds like they are coming from a Unix or Linux machine. Emails will sometimes be sent from "root user".
What OS are you running? Do you have any Linux machines?It's my problem, it's my problem

Linux is irrelevant here. The From: address is always forged and for all we know the mails could be coming from a tumble dryer running Windows 3.1,0 -

No help from me unfortunately but just to say I keep getting these too! A big batch of them come at once, very annoying. :mad:Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man's World!0
