Lloyds advice please

Hi

Im new to this board although I have been reading it for tips for a while. I am hoping that you will be able to give me some advice please.

I am just starting the process of claiming PPI from Lloyds for one loan and two credit cards, I have done all my banking with them since leaving school more than 25 years ago  (where does the time go)

On the 8th November I wrote to them using the letter template for paperwork request, and to date have received absolutely no response at all, I wrote seperate letters for the accounts. I am unsure now how to proceed and wonder what others would suggest as I see it my options are to resend the letter stating that it is a duplicate, proceed to the next step which is to contact ICO or would a SAR letter be more appropriate.

Im feeling a bit deflated at the moment, although from what I have read Lloyds are not good at responding to letters

thank you for reading this and I hope someone has some advice for me

    Hi Helen

    Good luck with your reclaims.

Lloyds sometimes do take some time, but did you post your letters by recorded delivery as well?
If so check the status of the delivery on the Royal Mail Website "Tracking" and check when they received these, they will probably count 8 weeks as from when they received your letters and not from the date you sent them.

I would though chase them up with a phone call just to make sure as well, the address below there is a also a telephone number, give them a call and ask if any letters have been sent you yet, if not ask them when you should expect to receive them because of the 8 weeks that have passed, because it could be a possibility of a backlog due to the bad weather we had here in South Wales as well, where they are actually based too.

    Lloyds PPI
    Customer Care
    Lloyds TSB Insurance
    Tredegar Park
    Newport
    South Wales
    NP10 8SB
    Tel 0845 3005599
    Fax 01633 468835

They are also a fortnight behind with mine from when the 8 weeks were up, only giving them until middle of this week and if I hear no decision then its off to the financial ombudsman service (FOS), your entitled to do this just as long as 8 weeks have passed.;)

I would though make sure they received them first and if they try talking about this on the phone tell them you want everything in written correspondence and just ask when you should hear from them, good luck, please let us know how you get on cheers.

  • thank you very much for the phone number and advice I will give them a ring in the morning and see if they have received the letter, I have held off because of the bad weather and christmas as well which I know could possibly have delayed things.

can you advise when is it appropriate to use the SAR letter?

I will keep you posted on my progress

  • well I spoke to them this morning and after being passed from pillar to post they claim not to have received any of the letters  anyway they are going to send me the information and have done a SAR request over the phone so we will see, I am not sure how long to give them to send this information Im guessing that I have to give them at least a month.

thank you again di3004 for your help
