How to repair an acryllic bath?

HI,

My bath is made of acryllic, and the coating inside the bath is starting to crack/splinter and come away from the actual base.

Is there any way I can fix this? (without having to buy another bath etc.) :o

Thanks.

  • Short answer is no. You can get a new bath from B&Q for under £50.

Thanks - the other reason for asking is that the bath is one of the old corner 'kidney' shaped baths, of a size I've never seen in the shops before (it's larger than the B&Q ones), so replacing it would also mean refitting the floor covering, as well as possibly moving pipes...:o

Well you can patch the damage but it'll just get worse as times goes on.

It all depends on the damage. If it is only a small area get yourself a Cramer Bath Repair Kit. Its as strong as the original and will be virtually invisible.

However, I have a feeling from what you've said that it's not so small. In which case it'll be a new one as others have said.

Can you stick a pic up somewhere (imageshack or photobucket) with a link back to here?

    Cheers
