isn't Talk talk customer service even worse? I had to sign up with BT only because I want to use O2 for my BB. Shame O2 landline service isn't in place soon enough.

BT, TalkTalk and the rest of them can give very very poor service.

Such is life looking for the lowest bills.

I do the odd bit of business for elderly (and not so) relatives and it can be a complete nightmare but you have to be patient and polite.

Posting here seems to help to!

OK, here is the update, an engineer turned up today bright and early (amazing!!!), He managed to set my line straight and gave me that new number I didn't want, but hey, nevermind. My BB went dead as soon as he left, which was expected. Called O2 about a couple of hours later, amazingly, they already picked up my new number and were ready to transfer my BB to the new number, but it will take another 6 days coz BT is the only people who is allowed to go into the local exchange. Yeah right, this is why they don't give a mick about if they have messed up your life, coz you still depend on them after all, you would have to wait 6 months if they say so. Screw that!

Called back to BT to stop them to go ahead with my number transfer, I wanted to transfer back to my old number as it was linked to my BB. I repeated myself about 5 times to that BT rep, he said I would have to talk to O2 to transfer my number. He clearly wasn't listening. Then he put me on hodl for 20 mins or so then came back to tell me there isn't any request for number transfer, I insisted there is as another BT rep has requested that for me when they booked the engineer in on Monday. He put me on hold again for another 20 mins then he finally realised yes, there was a request pending. How hard was it for him to look through my account record and find such a simple thing? I think most of the BT call centres people need retraining on basic things.

However, although my experience with BT has been absolutely unacceptable, there have been 3 advisors who seems care and do take their brains with them with they go to work. There was this guy who said he would give me an update within 24 hrs after an engineer didn't show up, he did and called my landline to check the line was working fine. Then this lady today finally understood my frustration and finally say yes I am now official a BT customer (I dont' really want to be tho) and calculated my compensation, which I was told by at least 5 BT reps I wouldn't be entitled to because it wasn't BT fault that my line was disconnected and my contract was canceled.

Anyway, now I hope everything will be fine from now and BT or openreach won't once again disconnect my line just because they felt like it.
