Number plate fell off!
Hi, can anyone help? please....
My back number plate attatched by a mechanic I used to use, was stuck on with double sided velcro! I don't know if the heat melted the stickyness but I came back today to see it lying by my car, thank goodness it was still there!
Aside from taking it to the garage to stick back on (don't really want the cost -its an old car) - can you suggest some glue that would stick it really well to metal? Evostick? What do you think?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Someone else posted in another thread below - you can get replacement double sided sticky pads for affixing number plates to vehicles from Halfords. They sell 1mm thickness for attachment to a flat surface and 6mm for curvy surfaces (like on a front bumper where it's profiled).0

I have a Micra (new shape) and the number plates are stuck on with heavy duty tape, the plates were put on the car while I waited to take it home, I asked if this was wise as couldn't they be pinched and was told there are no screw holes in the bumpers for the plate to be screwed on as all Nissan cars now use the tape. I was so doubtful I was given a small reel to put them back on when they fell off. Which they haven't !! (after 3 years)"Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0

HIBS, your mechanic will have used the WRONG sticky pads.
