Tocco Lite - 'Limited Service'
My son bought a Tocco Lite from his friend a couple of months ago. Yesterday it said 'limited service'. He is on O2 same as me and I havent had any problems. We have changed sims and that doesnt make any difference, his sim works in another phone! have done an internet search and have seen a few posts on forums about people having this problem and they have returned them. Anyone else had this and know what to do? He cant take it back as he bought it second hand.

Have you tried your sim in his phone? Does it still say limited service? You could try a manual network selection. If that doesn't work give O2 a call and they will talk you through what else you can try.
My OH has a Tocco Lite on VM and often has this problem. I'm convinced it's the phone as I too am on VM (got a different phone) and always have excellent signal.0 -
Does your sim work in the phone?
If not I'd phone O2 and check that the IMEI hasn't been barred.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
I have the Tocco Lite with a T-Mobile contract and often have limited service in certain areas. I know many people will say that it's just T-Mobile having rubbish reception everywhere but in some places e.g. in one room of my house, I'll have full reception and in other places e.g. my garage , I'll have no bars.
This has lead me to believe that the signal receiver on the phone may be weak or of a bad design. Having said that I do really like the fone0 -
I checked with O2 and they said the phone was blocked by Vodaphone. My son took it to a market stall who said it cant be unblocked as its the phone and not the network (although they did offer to buy it for £10). He took it into O2 who sent it off for repair. It has come back saying it cant be repaired as the phone is blacklisted. Does anyone have any other suggestions on getting it to work or failing that, is there anyway he could get more than £10 for it.?

Only thing you can do is eBay it out of the country to somewhere it'll work.0

If the phone is blacklisted then only Vodafone can unblacklist it. A phone is usually only blacklisted when it has been reported lost or stolen, so you might need your son's friend to call them as the IMEI may be registered in his name. They will also be able to unlock it for you if it is locked to the Vodafone network.Only thing you can do is eBay it out of the country to somewhere it'll work
You can't do that. If it is blacklisted then it ain't gonna work anywhere!0 -

Blacklisting only applies to the UK AFAIK, so it should work everywhere else in the world.0
