For what reason do you think it was mis-sold? Would you not be covered if you died accidentally?
Gone ... or have I?0 -

It's not that I wouldn't be covered if I died it's because I feel that I was pushed into buying it, basically they wouldn't get off the phone until I said ok, stupid I know but I felt like I couldn't say no.0 -
You could have put the phone down!
How long have you had the cover? Did the advisor tell you anything that was not true? Did you complain at the time?Gone ... or have I?0 -
If you feel you really did not need this cover as you had adequate cover already in place then I would say you could try and explain the situation to Barclays and see what they say. They may be able to trace the phone call and see what was said to you and if you were "pushed" into something you did not want. I know that loads are sold PPI regardless of the fact they already had adequate cover so it could be the same here.0

Your kith and kin would have been only to happy to claim on it if you'd been run over by a bus.
Do you not have a mind of your own, why didnt you just put the phone down.
Youve had the cover, why are you moaning now.
Tell you what, i will ring you and wont take no for an answer when i ask you for your bank details, i will go on and on till you give me them. What are you going to do - eh. Put the phone down
Or is it just ££££ signs your seeing because people are reclaiming PPI and you thought up this one.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I hear what you are saying here but sometimes we "duplicate" things where insurance is concerned and maybe (we cannot know from what the OP posted) the poster has already got a good accidental death policy in place. Its very hard to get some of these sales people to listen and we can sometimes say "yes" to things thinking it will help with credit application etc cause they tell us that.Your kith and kin would have been only to happy to claim on it if you'd been run over by a bus.

Sometimes (not saying the OP is) someone in the forces can be sold this cover and it does not cover them. SOmetimes it can be sold to someone that is a recovering drug addict, again it can be missold. Is it not whereby the sales advisor should perhaps send out the paperwork for these things and leave it up to the individual to get back if they so wish and not to stay on the phone pushing until they get a sale. These things need stopping.0 -

Guess what. Sales people are there to sell. You got sold to and you couldnt say no. That is not a mis-sale.I hear what you are saying here but sometimes we "duplicate" things where insurance is concerned and maybe (we cannot know from what the OP posted) the poster has already got a good accidental death policy in place.
Most people are not adequately insured under life assurance (or life insurance as accidental death cover is classed). You can also have as many plans as you life with life assurance. Its very hard to get some of these sales people to listen and we can sometimes say "yes" to things thinking it will help with credit application etc cause they tell us that.
If they infer that then its a mis-sale. If you think that but they havent said it then its not a mis-sale.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
