Heavy duty curtain track

Looking to buy new long curtains for the house. I have been in the house for nearly 6 months. It is a period house with sash window. The curtains I have seen are chenille, very heavy with thermal lining and made to measure and one curtain will measure 350cms width and 247 cms long. I am a bit concerned whether the plastic track I have now got will be able to take the weight They will cost £600 a pair. Can anybody advise me how do I make sure the curtain is strong enough take the heavy duty curtains? Do I need to change the track with a heavy duty one, how do I go about it? Not very good at DIY and have not got any money to spend. Thanks
