$ (US/American) cheque

Hey guys. I have a quick question

I banked my cheque in at my local natwest branch and its a foreign cheque from America (in $'s)

Does anyone know how long it would take for the funds to clear and the cheque to be cashed

Also how much it will cost in me in charges incurred

Thanks in advance for your help:T

    don't know about natwest but when i do it at royal bank of scotland they say it can take up to 6 weeks to clear. they charge a minimum of £5 as their fee and give you whatever their exchange rate is on the day they clear it...all in all you loose at least 5 percent, maybe more because the rates are fixed to make them a profit.

    Natwest = Royal Bank of Scotland

    They are both the same company, just trade under different names
