Travel Supermarket Hotel Booking - BEWARE

Hi, something I have noticed whilst trying to book a hotel room in Mumbai. TravelSupermarket which claims to search a huge number of the main hotel discount sites seems to be mysteriously missing out some of these. For Example for Mumbai "Hotels.com" are cheaper than the best quotes being offered for a number of hotels. Taj President and Taj Lands End to name just two I have looked at. But they don't feature at all even though they are the cheapest. I only found this out because I have a 10% discount code offer with Hotels.com and checked them directly. I have sent a message to TravelSupermarket but as yet no response.
I don't know if this is a one-off or it is widespread but it was quite a shock for me as I have used TravelSupermarket regularly in the past.

There are insurance companies who proudly claim they don't feature on comparison sites. Maybe Hotels.com opts out from travel sites?
I'm pretty sure it features on Tripadvisor, though.
I've had excellent deals from Hotels.com in recent years (including the extra 10% offer you mentioned).0 -

They are on other comparison sites. However, this is not something unique to Travel Supermarket, I am not aware of any comparison site that includes all hotel providers/ agents.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Hotes.com are shown on Travel Supermarket and I have seen them there many times quoted in the past, but they haven't been used for the Mumbai hotels.
Anyway just wanted to flag this up....I booked via Top Cashback into hotels.com with my 10% off code, and saved a good amount on if I had used Travel Supermarket best quote.0 -
Hi DOR779
Thanks for your comments! I haven't seen anything about Mumbai - can you please email me directly? (PM sent with address). That way I can investigate.
Hotels.com are indeed on travelsupermarket.com and have been for a number of years now.
dmg24 as you rightly say, no-one is able to cover all hotels and hotel sites. There are loads of independent hotels who do not work with any of the online agencies e.g. laterooms, hotels.com etc. and also there are many sites which simply replicate the same hotel stock you can find elsewhere as they take it from the same wholesale source. There are also some companies which prevent comparison sites from working with them, and other companies who are unable from a technical perspective to integrate with comparison sites. Our aim at travelsupermarket continues to be to compare as much of the market as possible.

Through Travel Supermarket, I got a quote for:
Hilton Waterfalls, Sharm.
Dept Manch Airport
13 Feb 10,
6 night stay, All Inc.
Company Southall Travel
The quote was £636 - checked on numerous occasions over a week long period.
When I phoned to book I was given the price £970 (told that the price quoted was for flight from London despite it clearly stating Manch.)
I rang back 30 mins later and spoke to another operator: Initially given price £825, when I wasnt happy with this, it was reduced to £739!!!
The site is still quoting at £636!!
I am very disatisfied with a system that quotes well under the incredibly varying 'actual' price of the holiday!0 -
Duncan, I sent a message to Travel Supermarket.com so you have all my details although I have yet to receive a response. The hotels are now booked. I had a quick look right now and hotels.com seem to be cheaper with Taj Lands End and Trident Nariman Point as two examples, than the cheapest quote on Travel Supermarket. If you are no longer working with Hotels.com I would remove them from your website so people know to search them separately. Or sort out whatever is causing the problem.0
