Is this gonna be the fabled part 3?, end the year wih a bang (and not the shotgun I promised myself last christmas lol)
Tbh this month has been sh**, ill be glad when its over, but moving on from that i suppose ive got a few things to look forward too.
Jan the 15th - Broadband ready in my new office, so that will be my moving in date.
Student loan, and JSA will finally come through, JSA are a bunch of incompetent inbreds who deserve my contempt, after 8 weeks since my original sign on, they havent processed it due to losing documents twice, and not being able to find records of my shares on there system, (i received that note on the 23rd), i mean its 250 quids worth, which ill prob have to sell soon anyways.
2007 is going to be a BIG year for me.
New career, new beginnings and new challenges.
Up until 2006 my life was rubbish, i think ive finally given myself a chance at happiness, i just hope i dont blow it.
As far as debts go, i have about 3k left on the loan, 850 quid left in savings and 250 quids worth of shares, ill be living on a very tight budget, but with the hours i plan to work on the approaching 70odd things I have on the go i wont be spending much on recreation lol.
All work and no play as the saying goes
Anyways in closing, i feel crap due to cold and other stuff, but the tarot has finally given me hope today
Oh and BTW, i have been working hard on improving TDM, it will have a slightly different look, be more organised and a lot faster, so *shameless plug* if you like our stuff and have some spare yule (or christmas) moneythen give us a look (ill post a note here when the update goes live)
Best wishes/Blessed be/Good will to all (wo)men

Time to dust off the cobwebs on this thing and point it forwards to a Debt Free 2008.
Reading through this brought back a lot of memories, good and bad, and made me realise what id achieved over the past 2 years, a lot of it thanks to this site, some of it being the kick up the b*m ive needed.
So where to begin, we left off in January, with no money, no job, just a business idea, and dreams of greatness, well that didnt go to plan (cue 5K more debt) and i eventually took 3 months working away, which did me a lot of good, was nice to get away, although i didnt end up any better off, debt wise, just had money to live on while i found a new job.
Other news i finished my HND, and sold my shares, it took the halifax 6 months to pay me, and i received a token £40 for "bad service"
I would have persued for more, but im going to get out of debt myself, not going to sue my way out of trouble lol.
Anyways new job, so far first month has gone ok, although financially ive let things slip, loan payment due out today, but an inability of my agency and umbrella company and myself to sort out various messes of contracts etc, means i am not going to be paid in time, so have been on the phone today to try and sort something out.
Eventually got my loan repayment date moved back a few days, but this months will have gone through so no doubt ill be charged.
Cant wait till this public spectacle of the OFT is over, I cant see us consumers getting the best deal here, but the law is the law, regardless, and I will be claiming back any charges I receive.
Other news financially i have applied for an egg card (35 quid cashback) and have been given 3.5K limit so i am left with some options.
Might do a bit of stoozing with there interest free period, or see if i can get this loan paid off quicker, and chip away at the card.
I think the loan overall has helped me out, but it isnt relly flexible, then again with BT fees now in place im sure it has saved me lots of money.
The loan settlement amount is 7.1K currently, £250 quid a month payment.
My outgoings are as follows
Zen Internet 29.99, I am tempted to shop around now, although this is just about the best ISP left at the moment, certainly regards dload limits, and connection speeds, I may send an email to renegotiate, this contract is no longer available, so i have been using them now for about 3 years, no problems, I would begrudge moving to a ISP which would cause me hassles.
Mobile phone - 10, im moving to PAYG, will have a look on the mobiles board for a free text deal, as i mainly use my phone for texting.
Loan repayment 250
Bus/train travel 80 quid (20 a week, i wont save 3 quid on the monthly because i know ill lose it!) - this is cheaper than daily tickets, especially as i have to travel accross "bus zones" to get to work.
Egg card balance transfer repayments 0 currently, unknown currently, will be minimum payments
So my outgoings are 400 a month, and i am cutting down on going out again so prob 20 quid a week on beer is acceptable.
Income, will be around 1400 - 1600 mark a month, so the more I save, I could potentally have 1K to put to savings to pay off the loan.
The only thing slowing me down at the moment is I will be starting a MCSE course, which will cost £850, but is more than worth it (I will have experience plus qualifications in IT then) so septembers wages will pay that off.
This also means ill have an excuse to stay in and study.
Then when the egg is 0 again I can do a BT for 3K into some savings account (i dont want my repayment for the course counted towards the cheaper BT so I have to pay interest, these cc companies are sneaky)
So in theory I have October/November and Decembers wages to add to this savings pot, creating a total of around 6K (if im good/scratch that, because i am going to be good), and the loan amount should be around 6.5K, so by january payday i have the option of saving for longer, or paying off the loan to save a lot of interest.
Then I will have around 6 months to pay off the Egg card before the 12 months expires, by which time ill look for other BT deals to see if i can minimise this.
So thats the future planned, sticking to it shouldnt be too much of a problem ive done it before, this time i need to finish the job.0 -
*bumpety bump*
Time to fill this in.
So far August has been an interesting month, my spends have been more than i planned for such as:
Course 936 (bloody VAT)
BCS membership 44 pounds, which looks good on my CV and lots of benefits which ive been reading through,
And IM at the limit of my fun spend already so 11 days now of being a hermit and continuing my course (which ive gone through the entire XP video section already, got lots to read now)
Looking forward to Otober for my 50 pounds of cashback and also ive earned 10 quid through some websites.
I have 100 to come from a website ive recently done so that will be going in the debt savings account, (when payday arrives will be setting this up)
Also just applied for a graduate account (RBS), with upto 2K interest free overdraft, which will save me some pennies in the short term, this after lloyds said "computer says no", damn not accepting HNDs lol
my planned DFD is still march, and i keep enterning Metroku to try and win 200 quid, would be marvellous if that happened.
Also have a PC now for sale, will be putting that up for sale asap, will use that money to pay off credit card, although my wages this month will do that, but as its interest free for 3 months I think ill hold back.
Otherwise 11 days till pay day, expenses this month are high (thanks to training and membership fees) so ill be paying less tax, so should have a couple of hundred more quid than i budgeted for on my SS, that will go to good use0 -
Glad to read your update Kev and to hear things are going steadily for you.
Floss xx0
