I would. A professional company or broker would always confirm important points like this in writing.
Not sure the point that you are trying to make, Anhilator0 -

thats certainly not the case with dad, he was asked to send a copy of his no claims proof with covering letter for the policy and put it in the covering letter?? not sure what is being insuated here, however we knew we told them hense asking them to listen to the call?? and had not mislead any one!
which considering before listening to the call they wanted to charge dad and additional premium and amendment cover, now they have listened to it and from the voicemail received they are not charging these
do you not check your schedual? policy documents etc?????MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

If the "something" is relating to a contract of any description sending written confirmation should be the norm!
How many posts do you see here where companies deny receiving telephoned instructions (eg regarding cancellations)?
Always put these matters down in writing, keep copies, ask for confirmation of receipt, and if money is (or could be) involved (as is always the case with insurance policies), then use a "signed for on receipt" service to send in the confirmation.0 -
I'm surprised they even wanted to increase the premiums on factory fitted items. [snip]...... However, you dont tend to see premium increases that often unless its performance related or a visual impact
This has changed a lot over recent years. I would have certainly have agreed with you a few years ago, would have even gone further and said that most insurers were not interested in any factory fitted optional extras, even though they were very interested in exactly the same changes made post manufacture.
Reality is any changes to the trim level results in a vehicle valuation change and as such results in a premium change. Of cause, adding cruise control only adds a small amount to the resell value of the car but in these days when car insurers are losing money hand over fist then every penny counts. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
