Credit Card Fraud - Mexico (HELP!!!)

My wife used a pharmacy in Mexico to buy some antibiotics when she was there. She used Chip and Pin and agreed to the amount. The problem is that she was told she was paying in Pesos when the attendant put it through as Dollars. And in Mexico they use the dollar sign for their money too.
So she has now paid over $600 for some antibiotics that should have cost less than $60.
Barclays are refusing to accept that this is fraud.
so what can we do.
Please help!!!

Nothing i would imagine. You check the amount that you are paying and accept it on the card reader machine. The mexican peso symbol only has one line through the S unlike the dollar symbol which has two.I would think Barclays would say the onus is on you to double check this.0

It is not fraud (yet) but why not ask them to do a chargeback for a wrong amount charged.0
