Employer asking for my phone number after an interview

Could the client company change their mind, and tell the temp agency that they don't want anymore temps? :

I'm worried they might say that when 'busy' periods are over. :

Of course they can. that's why they employ temps.

Why would they want to screw the agency?

To save the agency fee. The company tells the agency that they are no longer recruiting , the company offers the intervier the job directly, cutting out the agency. However, it sounds like they where acting legit, although the "waiting list" sounds a bit odd. Would you be employed by the company or the agency?

Looks like I will need to continue to look for jobs, incase the client company suddenly decided not to employ me (or other temp workers from the temping agency).

I would be employed by the agency. According to the agency, I'm a temp worker, working through the agency. The agency pays my salary.

I don't understand, you went for a temping job and now that you've realised it could be temporary, you aren't happy?
