How long does a transaction take to show?

I know you can call up the credit card companies and ask for a balance of whats on your credit card, but im just wondering how long does it take for your recent transaction to show on their report? is it only within the 24hours? anyone know? thanks alot x

It can depend - sometimes it will be immediate other times 2-3 days.
The trick is to ask for your available balance not just what you owe as all transactions will be earmarked against your account even if it does take 3 days to actually debit the account.0
