London hotel advice

Hi

I'm going to be travelling around the UK with a friend for a couple of weeks in March, and we're trying to arrange a few days in London, but after doing a bit of research it's getting a bit overwhelming.

I'm trying to keep the price between £60 to £85 a night. Initially I was looking close to Heathrow due to meeting her from the airport, but I'm now looking a bit closer to London itself soas not to waste too much time travelling back and forth each day.

So I'm trying to find somewhere in the above price range, close to a tube station, and maybe only half an hour or so from central London.

After browsing a through threads on here and other places, I've seen mention of Ramada Encore London West, Premier Inn London Kensington, Novotel London Greenwich, Premier Inn London Docklands... all get mostly decent reports on tripadvisor, but really I have no idea what those places or areas are like and how practical they really are for ease of visiting the general touristy stuff in London.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Darren

Try the travelodge website. They may have some offers on for the time you are staying there. We always stay in a travelodge when in London, typically the Covent garden one which is walking distance to the major sites. There are also great ones in Kings Cross, Docklands too many to mention. Look on their site for the ones in London, you may get something.
    Good luck

  • I stayed in a travelodge in East London and it was horrid - put me off I'm not sure I'd stay in one again. Stayed in a premier inn this week (not London) but it was great, basic but clean and attached to a pub. Kensington is pretty central, as long as you are near a tube it's easy to get about. Long time since I lived there though so may be rusty!
