I bought a bag from TK Max yesterday and today while i was carrying it, the handle snapped. The problem is that i can't find the receipt and customer services told me that i can't do anything without proof of purchase. I know it was careless not to have kept the receipt in a safe place but i just feel that it's money thrown down the drain. Is there anything at all i can do?

How did you pay for it? Can you get a bank statement which would show you'd purchased something yesterday from them?

I paid for it in cash, so without the receipt there's no proof of purchase unfortunately. I just can't believe that something i bought yesterday got damaged today.
  • Unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do. If you can remember which till you payed at, roughly what time the purchase was, and how much you handed over in cash (and amount of change you got), TK Maxx may, as a good will gesture, go through the logs on the tills to see if your transaction did take place, in which case they may offer a refund - there is no guarantee of this, as this is way beyond what the SoGA requires a shop to do in this situation.

  • Do You have the store bag or you could ask for them to check CCTV as that worked for me in the past.
