BOS -Closing my complaint

Hi all, first post here but need some info on something!
Received a letter today from Bank of Scotland advising me that due to the recent ruling they are closing my complaint and issuing no refund. However, I have a letter dated 20/03/2007 offering a refund of £117.00, stating that if I didnt accept this I was to get in touch otherwise they would assume the matter resolved. I was happy enough with this and did not object. To my knowledge this was never paid. Is this worth anything or does the new ruling blow everything out the water?
Cheers
Steven

... I was happy enough with this and did not object. ...
But did you accept it? And why have you waited almost 3 years before doing anything about it?
The boat has now sailed ... and you appear to still be on the bus to the port."Now to trolling as a concept. .... You'll probably need to check back on your statements for a refund of charges/goodwill payment around that period if you dont recall.
If you feel the charges are unfair for reasons other than the price/cost of them then yes write back and ask them to continue looking at your complaint, giving reasons.
Martins doing some guidance for how to reply (or not) to the bank in these cases.LegalBeagles0 -

The letter is phrased
"If you do not wish to accept this payment, in full and final settlement of your complaint, please contact me withing this timescale on the above number. Otherwise I will assume that this matter has been resolved"
To me that reads that I only needed to get in touch should I not be happy with their offer.0 -
Yes, so you need to check if you ever received the payment, and if not go back to them. If you did then thats it, full and final settlement received and case closed.LegalBeagles0

I will do that, although I don't recall ever being paid. Also the letters updating on the court case and today's letter saying my complaint was being dismissed would have been a bit daft if the case had already been settled?0 -
Aye true, think the banks are just sending one to every customer thats ever complained tho just to make sure they dont miss anyone.LegalBeagles0

Oh well then, I wouldn't bother getting in touch. The letter is phrased

They might send you the money one day ...or they might not
Either way, you don't seem overly concerned. You've waited almost 3 years, perhaps a few (or more) years won't harm, eh?"Now to trolling as a concept. ....
