A quick journey calculation for petrol costs?

Hi can someone do a quick journey calculation for me

a car getting 42mpg, at £1.12 per litre, traveling on a journey over 45 mins for 20 miles

how much would it be??

1.12 per litre is £5.09 per gallon. (1.12 /0.22).

Using 20/42 of a gallon = 5.09 x (20/42) = 2.42.

thank you, i think its about that figure. a monthly journey to work would therefore cost about 101 quid, but a bus pass is 66!!!

So is it worth £2 a day not to have to stand in the rain and cold and sit next to some smelly random coughing their guts up?

And don't forget you're paying tax, depreciation and insurance whether you take it to work or not.
