I was just wondering really if anyone has any experience of the future job fund / young person guarantee?
It has just come out as the new flexbile deal from what i know?
The government is now paying local councils etc etc too make new jobs for 18 to 24 year olds that have been unemployed for 10 to 12 months....
They only last 3 to 6 months.
My daughter has been referred too this and has an interview for it next week......the only thing we are worried about is if she was too be offered it we know that they work 25 hours a week at minimum wage which is roughly £480 a month according too some of the websites i have looked at now she gets £500 a month in benefits.....so surely that isn't fair on her to work and lose money from it.

she is intitled too it...i just think its crazy that they want her too work full time for less money. She wont beable too afford too live and pay the bills after money going out for buses and food while at work too. I dont understand the government at all!0

So your happy for her to sit around and claim off the tax payer.
And we wonder why this country is going down hill0 -
Bufty - So you would be happy to work all month for a pathetic £480 knowing that you could claim more on benefits and not have to pay out on travel to and from work. Yeah right.
Its not her fault that she is better off on benefits and it doesn't make sense at all.0 -
She's not working full time though, she's working 25 hours a week."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0

She doesnt sit in the house allday and yes she does claim off the tax payer just as you would have too if you lost your job...we all get in this position at some point during our lives.
But would you work for less than you get on benefits? she has rent too pay, bills too pay, food so she can eat.......thats not stuff she wants its life so money is her main concern right now.
Yes it is full time its a government paid new deal course. the employers are paid too take on these long term unemployed too work full time 25 hours a week.0 -

She cannot be forced to accept an unsuitable job.
And any job which would make her homeless (unable to afford pay her rent, food, and basic bills, which she currently is paying for her home), would clearly be an unsuitable job, as acceptance of it would cause her to not be able to pay her rent at end of the month, thus become homeless as a result.0 -

Hi GalaxyChocolate,
How old is your daughter? If she's 22 or older, her net wage would be around £593pm, not £480. It'd be about £518 if she's aged 18-22. http://listentotaxman.com
Secondly, does she live under your roof, or does she have her own place?
If she has her own place, she can still receive full (but probably partial) housing benefit and council tax benefit, even though she's working. Go to https://www.entitledto.co.uk and input her details, for a rough idea.£1 / 50p 2011 holiday flight + hotel expenses = £98.50/£600
HSBC 8% 12mth regular savings = £80 out of a maximum remaining allowance of £2500
"3 months' salary" reserve = £00 / £3600 :eek:0 -
An employer taking part in the scheme only needs to provide a minimum of 25 hours per week per worker. The minimum wage for 18 to 21 year olds is nearly £1 an hour less than for everyone else. So young people could be left with as little as £119 per week........That is what i had ready on the website for this particular new deal. You have too realise its not a normal job its all government paid.
The interview she has is for 25 hours a week so she would have about £480.
She is 20 and we both are tenants and we are put down as house sharing. So she pays half of everything. I cant afford for her too live with me free.
She did get told that she wouldnt beable to get any benefits while doing the 3 to 6 month placement.0 -

What benefits does she get now, to bring in £500 per month? JSA based on her age only amounts to a shade over £200pm (or, rather, every 28 days).
You need to double-check on her being told she won't be able to claim any further assistance whilst she's on this placement. Where'd you get the info?
I used to claim a small amount of HB and CTB from time to time when I was earning very low wages. Like your daughter, I was working 25hrs per week (min. wage, but the higher rate). However, I was not on a 3-6 month gov. placement, and was not living with parents.
Nevertheless, I was working and legitimately claiming at the same time.£1 / 50p 2011 holiday flight + hotel expenses = £98.50/£600
HSBC 8% 12mth regular savings = £80 out of a maximum remaining allowance of £2500

I'd question whether the whole living arrangement/HB thing is even legal.0
