When does a search happen

I tried applying for the tesco 0% spending card online and got rejected right after I filled in my details. Will it have done a full credit search at this point or just turned me down on the basis of the income/other cards details I put in?

They may have performed a search. The only way to be sure is to check your credit file.0

Impossible to say.
It's possible they did an instant on-line search and also possible they rejected you before that.
One search will not cause huge problems.
So if that's the only one you've done in last few months then there is nothing to be concerned about.
If you've have loads of searches then it could be an issue, but one is not an issue.0
