You are posting on the wrong website -this one is the wrong shape - too square.
not sure what this means - I guess a comment as to my technical skills, but it made me smile.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

ok, you are excellent people and I can now see my hard drives. I can't however use them
I turned of my computer at the wall for half an hour after deleting all the bits in device manager listed above, then it recognised them but clicking on them brings up the error:
explorer.exe-application error
The instruction at "0x05b32847" referenced memory at "0x05884000" The memory cannot be "read"
clicking ok seems to refresh my desktop and cancel closes the window.
i kind of remember this error before, but I can't remember from when or why it went away.
1 - If you are using a desktop with a picture, try turning it off to a simple plain background
2 - Whilst you are doing that, run a scan for spyware etc with Spybot and Malware bytes
3 - If that fails, you COULD try running the command sfc.exe /scannow if you are using Windows XP, however you will require a copy of Windows on CD whilst doing this as it replaces the original system files for any corrupted ones.not sure what this means - I guess a comment as to my technical skills, but it made me smile.
I have no idea what the hell it means myself, I just ignore over comments like that.Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them
