Lost b2 account

I have ISA and PEP with b2 - i think was or is owned by Barclays. I have lost all account details and can't trace anything. All attempts at finding details of b2 useless to date. Tried Barclays various numbers, all no good . Any help MUCH appreciated; I do have a few 000 pounds in there somewhere!

    You night try this

    http://www.mylostaccount.org.uk/index.htm

Not sure if they can trace ISAs and PEPs though (well ISA is a saving account I suppose so maybe they could).
  • thanks i tried this months ago and got no-where. just spent another hour on the phone: Barclays know nothing, but they find web searches noting b2 etc, but all links are dead; i wonder where my money is now!! cheers

Do you remember if you were invested in a fund? I believe that Barclays range of unit trusts are now managed by L&G. See here http://www.legalandgeneral.com/investment/fundprice2.jsp

PS a web search suggests Barclays dropped the B2 branding around 2000. They spent a lot on advertising (I vaguely remember it) but it was not successful.

Don't know if this will be of any help to you at all, but you can see saved copies of the former b2.com pages at the Internet Archive. The last copy of the main page was archived in September 2002 and has the following:
As you'll know by now, b2 unit trust, PEP, ISA and Cash Savings Account holdings were transferred to Legal & General on 13 May 2002. Consequently, we now no longer maintain a dedicated b2 website.

However, if you need information on your holdings, or you would simply like to top-up your investments:

Please call the Legal & General Customer Services Centre on 029 2044 8412.* Lines are open 8.30 am to 6pm weekdays and 9am to 1pm on Saturday.

Alternatively, you can write to Legal & General at:
    Legal & General Retail Investments
    Customer Services Centre
    PO Box 1004
    Cardiff
    DC24 0YS

If you just want to find out a current price, simply click Unit Trust Prices now.

*For your protection, Legal & General may record and monitor calls.

For details about unit trusts and ISAs available through Barclays, please click the link to the Barclays Personal Banking Savings and ISAs page.

The postcode doesn't look right as Cardiff is CF. The footer on the page reads:
b2 is a trading name of Barclays Funds Limited, manager for unit trusts and Personal Equity Plans. Registered number 589407. Barclays Bank PLC is the manager for Individual Savings Accounts. Registered number 1026167. Both are registered in England. Registered office: 54 Lombard Street, London EC3P 3AH. Regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

To see this and all other stored B2 pages for yourself, use this URL:
    http://web.archive.org/web/*/www.b2.com/*
Be sure to include the star * at the end. As you might be able to spot, this isn't being included as part of the linked blue text (a quirk of links I can't do anything about), but it's important to use it in order to get up the whole list of pages available from the former B2 domain.

Archived copies of the main front page run from December 1998 to September 2002, but many will be identical to each other: if you were looking for something in particular you'd just have to keep trying different-dated copies to see if they had it. Each different page will have its own span of dates.

Few points to bear in mind about the IA:
-- Any links you click from archived pages will go to another archived/stored copy of the linked page (assuming they have it), including links to any external off-site (non-B2) pages.
-- Quite often images aren't saved and will appear as empty boxes, so you may not be able to see any information which originally appeared as a graphic.
-- The particular date on which any page you're looking at was archived can be checked from numbers forming part of its URL in your address bar. For instance, for
    http://web.archive.org/web/20020926015005/http://www.b2.com/
the numbers (in bold) indicate it was saved on 26 Sep 2002.
-- The Internet Archive should only be looked on as a series of random snapshots. It won't be a complete record and a number of pages will almost certainly be missing altogether, particularly if their life online was short. Nor will the copies they do have reflect every change made to those pages.

    Good luck.
