I was once told by a crime prevention officer that the whole point of all these precautions was simply to persuade the low life to move on to easier pickings. I don't have any valuable possessions, so perhaps I should get a modified sign like those you see on vans. "No tools/valuables kept in this van/house overnight".I can afford anything that I want.
