Took the email along just in case and.................................didn't need it.
Went to CS desk first, they were soooooooo friendly and said any till will accept them, but if there was a problem to call for her (she gave me her name) yet assured me there wouldn't be.
She was right! Spent £15 and used all my vouchers, £7 including 2 of the £1 book vouchers from a friend. When I'd passed them all through the girl on the till said.......................'Do you have any more? I can get your shop down to nothing, if you like'
I was really shocked. I know they are more expensive but if they take any amount I'll go again. Not that I get a great deal of them. I do find them now I look out for them though.
As I left the CS girl I spoke to on the way in said 'See you didn't need me. Hope to see you in here again sometime!'.......................................

Luncheon Vouchers are different and can only be used in the stores listed on the back.
Waitrose are different in different locations (as with Tescos), most will only take one of each type only 1/3rd and no internet, Its the store managers choice in the end..0 -
When I tried at the one nearest me, Mere Green Sutton Coldfield they would not accept any vouchers. Has anyone else had better luck there recently? My next nearest is Lichfield. It's fairly new, and I haven't been to it yet. Anyone tried that one out? Thanks.0

Waitrose just replied to say they accept Luncheon Vouchers - but only for grocery purchases. I've got about £10 to spend then. I shall take the e-mail with me for proof.0

Just been to local Waitrose (Hall Green, Birmingham) as I has 3 vouchers expiring today, picked up about 6 quids worth of shopping and the lady took all three knocking 3.85 off my bill.0

Waitys in Newark taske one third off and only five of the same sort, however it really does depend on which checkout person you get. Sometimes they just take the lot, no question. Waitys is more expensive than your normal supermarket but I find if I save up my coupons for a while then go to do a shop there it works out the same and the fish and cheese is top quality! You can if you think you can!0

Hi - yes most waitrose stores are great about coupons - but there is a difference between the book vouchers and most others - The book vouchers cannot be redeemed back for money by the store - they are part of an arrangement made to get more people reading and the stores agree to fund that - hence I do not think the stores will be very pleased to have those coming through the tills - and we do not want to spoil Waitroses good attitude do we? On the other hand the normal coupons eg the magazine coupons in the mail etc the store can claim back for - so really nobody loses out - We really think that usung coupons is such a great thing that its best to stick to the "rules" to keep store managers happy !0

compmad1 - if the Lichfield Waitrose you are referring to is one in the middle of the new housing estate on the edge of town, I have been there and its really lovely!! (In-laws live a few miles down the road, are debt-free and totally non-MSE when it comes to their spending!! :rotfl:).
OH and I wandered up and down the aisles mesmerised. I think it must be a kind of flagship store for the West Midlands because we work near the Waitrose branches on the Kings Road and Gloucester Road in London (so not an un-posh area!
) but the Lichfield branch had loads of nice stuff that we have never even seen for sale in the London stores...
If they will take vouchers, then I would definitely make a trip!!:D
