    What a lazy skank.

Soda and Vinegar followed by boiling water. If that doesn't work then you can try a commercial drain clearer or call the council. Is there a chance that the neighbour will accuse you of doing it?

My fence is too high, for her to accuse me, and you can see where it splashed on the fence, which direction it has come in.

The original fence is 3ft. I've put a 5ft fence onto this.

The drain is in my garden, but the fence I've put on has created a gap between the two.

I would have to go into her garden to physically clean the drain, but can get the girls to pour hot water down as it will run into the drain IYSWIM.

Pipkin, I would attempt to clear it with hot water, but ring the Council to report the problem, as effectively she is damaging their property and as you say it may well cause problems with any future rain. They may well ask if you have any idea who has caused the problem, and you can honestly say "it wasn't anyone in this household but when the men come, they will see where it came from"!

wondering about a solution of dissolved washing soda..... maybe someone else will know if that will work?

It's CAUSTIC soda (sodium hydroxide) that you need ;) That will react with the fat, producing soap, which will help.

Do be careful, though. Follow the package instructions exactly, and wear googles/specs andf rubber gloves.

  • I'd just report it to the council, as said already, the neighbour is damaging their property, and if they carry on being a nuisance it will be good to have this on record.

If it's obvious where it's come from then call the council and report it. If they have a tendency to be nuisance neighbours then having this on record might help in the future.

I give up one some people, this neighbour is obviously a idiot

Pouring fat down a drain is a big no no and is one reason why drains get blocked and cause the rest of us to pay more

Different drains, Barneysmom, although they may well meet underground

This one has the gutter pipe coming off the roof and down into it.
