I seem to be giving away monday - help :)

Hi all,

Seem to be giving away money to Halifax.

At what stage is it advisable to apply for a 0% BT card? I've seen Eggs one which is great as its up to March 2011. I have £5000 to xfer from Halifax where I pay £150-£200 a month on but £100 of that is just interest!

Never missed payments and what not on any of my agreements (got a HP car thing too) though I was declined twice Sep last year on BT cards by what then was Abbey and Nationwide.
I have since got a CapitalOne card only to bump up the rating as they only gave me £100 credit on it :rotfl:
Again never missed and when i rarely do use it, I just pay it off within the month

But its that £5000 I just pay a heck of a lot of interest on and feel I'm giving away money.

Is it worth applying for Egg or is it most likely to turn me down?
Credit Exp score is 805 (but fair)
£5000 on Halifax outstanding
0 on capital one
25k on car (1 year into the 5 years)
none of which I am struggling with as far as monthly payments are concerned nor have I missed payments.

Thanks!

Apply for a loan in the first instance to get rid, it will be quicker than just paying off the min on a credit card.

Credit expert score is a waste of money. Arguably so is a £25k car if you're concerned about clearing a £5k card balance :)

Over the past few years I've been stoozing somewhere between 15k and 65k. Whether at the height of stoozing balance or after clearing a load of cards, I've never had any luck with Abbey or Nationwide but lots of luck with others.

Your best bet would be to apply for 1 card every 3 months and hopefully you'll get lucky. Try the Virgin Money card.

Phone Cap One, tell them the credit limit is a joke, you've got a £5k balance to transfer, if they would like to receive it they can offer you a rate and limit, otherwise cancel the card.

I could do with an extra day if you've any more to spare.
