Help with savings

Hello All

Ok i have had savings in Barclays bonus saver account for three years now, and the return is not very good at all,i have 10K in there and would like to put some where good, am paying in £300 a month in there to, Am saving up for a house and mortgage..

  • Under 35? Consider this. Santander account meant for saving up for a house, 5% for an initial deposit of up to £5000 and depositing £100-£300 a month. You have to have a mortgage interview with them before you close the acount, but you don't have to take one of their mortgages.

    You would still have 5k left over, maybe consider a Lloyds Vantage account. 4% on balances between 5k and 7k, but you have cycle £1000 through it a month. Or assuming you're a tax payer, an ISA would also be a good choice.
