Non-FOS PPI

Hi,
I thought I'd exhausted all options re: reclaiming against the broker that went bust years ago and was not covered by the FOS at the time, but it seems there is another option in terms of claiming against the underwriter of the PPI which is Lloyds. Given that Lloyds did not sell me the insurance, (so I'm not claiming 'mis-selling'?), does anyone have any guidance about the possible nature of any claim against them?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi there
Many of us are in the same situation as you here and have gone the insurer direction, some have also been successful as far as I am aware as well going this route.
The FOS are trying to make the insurers responsible as well as the broker you so make a claim like you did with the broker, the same process.
Even though the insurer may come back and say no, you do have the opportunity to take to the FOS as these should have been governed, protected where the FOS can investigate these complaints.
To get your money back, go for this direction, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi, I claimed against my insurer Lloyds of London but not for misselling but I went for an unfair rebate that I had received when I settled the loan early. I won as well but took over 12 months at the FOS. I know that some on here have complaints in with FOS for the actual misselling of insurance against the underwriters/insurers but as yet only a few have posted winning. I do know this is a grey area at the moment but things SHOULD start moving soon with them. Meeting were taking place whilst my complaint was in and I was told that as yet few if any insurers were taking responsibility but they were trying to make them somehow. Good luck with yours.0
