Hi.
Will Tiscali phone line not be override?
Checked my first bill online and was shocked to see that I'm being charged different of what supposed to pay?????:confused:

11/12/2009 15:32:19 0.1376 00:07:15 08442050505 08 traffic (BT charge band g22)
This is one of many wrong charges.

Was supposed to pay 0.5p/min and I'm paying 2 p/min.
Should I call them(tiscali) and tell there are mistakes?

Lucky you aren't on Virgin Media they charge 4p/min plus 10p connection? Was your 0.5p/min the charge BT make because most others will charge more?

I've been BT customer, Tesco Home Phone and now Tiscali.
So far(BT, Tesco) I was paying as much as welcome call was saying ie 0.5p/min.
Then if they refer to BT prices(italic line above is taken from my bill) than do I have to pay more?
Maybe will need to call them and clarify this point.
    Thanks anyway.

You pay whatever they say on their price list. If you don't like their prices you have to go elsewhere.

As I said if you were with Virgin Media for your calls you would be paying 4p/min. For example Virgin charge up to 20 times as much as BT for 0845 calls. Evening calls on VM are 10p/min on BT 0.5p/min.

The charges on your bill are not wrong your paying the Tiscali/Talk Talk rate which is not the same as the BT rate.

Like Virgin Tiscali charged more then BT to call 0844 numbers. Talk Talk have now taken them over and the new phone rates for ex tiscali customers from 1/1/2010 can be found here.

Non geographical prices can be found here

Your notice that calls to 08442050505 ( Chargeband G 22 ) are now charged at 9.25p connection and 1p a minute.

Normally I check UK CallChecker to make a UK call and(of course) choose the cheapest to make the call.
Have I to ditch this method?

As it says on the MSE CallCheckers, prices shown are FROM A BT LINE.

If you don't have a BT ine, the prices shown will not be what you're charged.

In particular, those not having a BT line may not be able to use the prefixes 18185, 1899 and 18866 at all.

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
